Remember that not all these “work at home” schemes are as steadfast in their promises. To be sure, these “work at home” schemes are one of the fastest growing industries online. But you need to be careful because most of these “work at home” ads omit the fact that the job may cover many hours of work without pay. It’s either that or they don’t disclose all the costs you will have to pay in order to earn money. It is no secret that countless “work at home” schemes require you to spend some money from your own pocket. The money will be spent on newspaper ads, photocopies, or envelopes, paper, stamps, and other supplies or equipment – things that you need to do the job. In addition, companies who offer these “work at home” jobs may demand some payment for the “tutorial” or instructions you need for the software that you’ll be using. So although “work at home” jobs may promise you big amounts of money, you stand the chance of losing some first. There have been reports that several consumers deceived by these ads have lost not only thousands of dollars but also their time and energy. Of course, not all “work at home” opportunities aim to deceive you. There are some that make good on their promises. However, as stated earlier, it’s best if you exercise precautionary measures. Classic Work At Home Schemes These are the classic types of “work at home” schemes going around: * Medical Billing – Pre-packaged businesses – known as billing centers – are sending out “work at home” ads in newspapers, on television, and on the Internet. The idea is this: the health care system is experiencing a “crisis” due in part to the overwhelming task of processing paper claims. Their business presents one solution – electronic claim processing and this is where you come in. In this case, your “work at home” job is to provide the medical community with services, such as billing, accounts receivable, electronic insurance claim processing, and practice management. The bottom line is that you will have to sell. These promoters rarely provide experienced sales staff or contacts within the medical community.
